10-Nikola Zigic (FW, Birmingham)
Standing a massive 6' 7 ½", Zigic is one of very few people who know what the top of Peter Crouch's head looks like. He's not the most prolific goalscorer but is a real nuisance up front and should get his fair share of assists.

9-Milan Jovanovic (FW, Liverpool)
He might have had to give the number 10 shirt to Joe Cole, but Liverpool's new number 14 has the raw skill to become a real success story if he nails down a place in Roy Hodgson's starting XI.

8-Charlie Adam (MF, Blackpool)
The Scotsman's tendency to accumulate bookings undermines his value, but he looks like the best bet in a Blackpool shirt this season. A talismanic attacking midfield presence with 16 goals last term.

7- Thomas Hitzlsperger (MF, West Ham)
The German was a low key signing from Lazio but could prove an absolute bargain, particularly if Scott Parker leaves Upton Park. He has a hammer of a left-foot and ought to see some action on set pieces, too.

6-Andy Carroll (FW, Newcastle)
The towering 21-year-old has been dubbed the new Duncan Ferguson for his performances both on and off the pitch, and now gets to scare the life out of Premier League defenders. Scored 17 Championship goals last season.

5-Laurent Koscielny (DF, Arsenal)
With William Gallas and Sol Campbell now ex-Gunners, there is very little doubt that Koscielny will get a game alongside last season's mega-bargain Thomas Vermaelen. Koscielny won't score as many goals, but he is still a must-buy.

4-Chris Brunt (MF, West Brom)
The Northern Irishman looks like a stonking selection as the Baggies' main creative force. Brunt smashed in 13 league goals from midfield, and provided a boatload of assists as West Brom's set-piece wizard. Expect a steady stream of points.

3-David Silva (MF, Manchester City)
Amid the amazing competition for places at City, one man surely guaranteed his place is £25 million man Silva. A quick, skilful, creative player with a goal in him, Silva should provide a fine return on your minimal outlay.

2-Marouane Chamakh (FW, Arsenal)
After flirting interminably, the Moroccan has finally joined Arsenal from Bordeaux and looks like Fantasy gold. The only question is whether Arsene Wenger fill find room for both Chamakh and Robin van Persie in his starting XI.

1-Jerome Boateng (DF, Manchester City)
Looks like the perfect acquisition. The German international is an attacking full-back playing for a solid defensive side, and should get plenty of chances to arrow crosses into the box. There's very little not to love.
