KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a Datuk in his early 50s for allegedly taking in millions in bets during the recent World Cup.
Sources said the Datuk was arrested together with seven other suspects including four women during a raid on a house in Happy Garden, Old Klang Road here.
Police seized three mobile phones, a pen drive, desktop computers and about RM24,000.
A pistol was also seized from the Datuk.
Initial investigations also revealed that the Datuk has a previous record for criminal intimidation.
It is learnt that a report was lodged against him last year for pointing his pistol at a member of the public at KL Sentral.
