A Caucasian man was arrested for causing a commotion at Geylang this morning.
Said to be in his 30s to 40s, the Caucasian man had checked into a hostel at Geylang Lorong 20 at about 8am this morning.
The man had asked to rent a bed to sleep for half an hour and paid $8 for the rental.
However, at about 8.40am when the staff knocked on the man's door, he refused to vacate the room and kicked up a fuss.
The man even tried to attack a staff member, resulting in the police being called in.
The police arrived shortly to find that the man had locked himself in the room.
He also refused to heed repeated calls from the officers to come out from the room.
When the police officers, three male and one female, finally managed to enter the man's room, the fully nude man rushed to attack them.
The police officers eventually subdued the man with a taser gun. The man was stunned with two shocks from the gun, one on his back and one on his abdomen.
A white towel was fetched to cover up the man while he was handcuffed and put into an ambulance.
The police are investigating the case as a use of violence towards civil servants.
